In the world of professional sports, there are few things more impressive than a player or team setting a new record. And in the National Basketball Association (NBA), there are plenty of records to be set. Here are just some of the most amazing ones:

  • The most points scored in an NBA game is 186, which was set by Wilt Chamberlain in 1962. Chamberlain also holds the record for most rebounds in a game with 55.
  • The Boston Celtics have won the most championships of any NBA team, with 17. The Lakers are second on that list, with 16 titles.
  • LeBron James has made the most playoff appearances of any player in NBA history, with 213. He’s also won the most playoff games, with 186.
  • The Golden State Warriors have the best regular-season winning percentage in NBA history, going 73-09 during the 2015-16 season.
  • Michael Jordan is the all-time scoring leader in NBA history, with 32,292 points. Kobe Bryant is second on that list, with 33,643 points.
  • Wilt Chamberlain is the only player in NBA history to score 100 points in a single game. This record was set in 1962 and still stands today.
  • Kobe Bryant is the youngest player in NBA history to reach 30,000 career points. He accomplished this feat at the age of 34 years and 104 days old.
  • LeBron James is the only player in NBA history to have won an MVP award, an NBA championship, and an Olympic gold medal in the same year. This amazing feat was accomplished in 2012.
  • Michael Jordanis the only player in NBA history to win six NBA championships. He accomplished this feat from 1991 to 1998.
  • Bill Russell is the only player in NBA history to win 11 NBA championships. He accomplished this feat from 1957 to 1969.
